People: Sean Carolan

Carolan's writing for the Animaniacs series is his first venture into comics. Along with Jennifer Moore, he worked on the underground radio series Hub City Spoke Repair, which enjoyed moderate success in the early 1990s.

Carolan discovered the Animaniacs cartoon series in March 1995, after encountering a group of fans on the Internet Relay Chat network. He quickly became a fan of the series, and tried his hand at writing a script for Freakazoid! not long after that series debuted. While talking to Paul Rugg about his script, he and Moore hooked up with WBWP editor Robert Graff and started writing for the comics on a regular basis. Their stories appear not only in the Animaniacs series, but in Looney Tunes as well. They wrote a special issue of the latter for a comic book the US Postal Service is distributing to kids interested in their Stampers stamp collection program.

Carolan is on the Internet, and has contributed factual information to the ACK in the past, something I certainly hope he continues. He may be reached via email at hubcity@exit109.com.

(I'm happy to be able to say that I was the one who pointed Sean and Jenn to Robert Graff; their work has been as good as any seen in the series...JM)
